Do you have your ceiling fan going in the right direction?

This is one question I always have to think about when seasons change. I never know if my fans are going the right direction. Well, now I know.

Summer: Set your fan so it is going counterclockwise when you look up at it. This will push air down – keeping you cooler and cutting your energy costs.

Winter: Set your fan so it is going clockwise when you look up at it. This pulls the air up – keeping you warmer and cutting your energy costs.

OK, so now tell the truth. Is your ceiling fan going in the right direction? I can honestly say my living room fan is going the right direction. I’ll have to check on the other ones.
