Have you ever tried Chai Tea? It is sooo good! And you can have it hot or iced.
The first place I ever tried Chai Tea was at Starbucks. My stomach was a little upset and I didn’t want coffee so I thought I would try the Chai Tea. Nice and hot to make my tummy feel better. I was totally amazed by the flavor. It was like nothing I had ever tried before and it really was very soothing. Since then I have had my Chai Tea both hot and iced, depending on my mood at the time.
Then a couple of months ago I got a really good deal and purchased one of those single serve coffee makers that uses the k-cups. Yep, I got the coffee maker at half of what they normally sell for and that was great. BUT, the k-cups that are used with the machine are quite pricey. There is a really good Chai Tea in the k-cups. Mine are almost gone and I cam across this recipe online. I will definitely be whipping up a batch to try. It would also be great to make this mix, put it in pint size jars, and use as a gift.
* 1/2 cup instant tea
* 1 cup sugar
* 1 cup dry milk
* ½ cup dry creamer
Spices:
* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1 teaspoon ground ginger
* ½ teaspoon salt
* ½ teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
* 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
* 1/8 teaspoon cayenne (careful, careful!)
Spoon a couple of heaping teaspoons into a mug of hot water, stir, and Voila! Steaming chai tea. If you want a cold drink, just pour it over ice.
