My Journey Through Seminary

My Journey Through Seminary

This has been a quiet week for my studies. I decided to take a short break after I completed the first course and the first test. You can read  my post HERE to find out how I did.

I am pleasantly surprised at the information I retained from my first course. When listening to my pastor’s sermons I can relate so much better than before. It’s a really good feeling!

What will I be studying next? Acts: The Holy Spirit at Work in Believers. I am really excited about this study and looking forward to getting started.

  2. I’m so glad you passed!!!! I notice when I am reading for an exam I don’t tend to retain as much as reading for my own purposes (fun, learning, etc.). I often end up re-reading articles to try to make sure I truly got everything out of it. I daily read my Bible, I go from beginning to end and then start again, a portion every day, I have a nice Bible with study guides. I read other materials, and sometimes Psalms or other passages, but always stick to reading in order. That way, I don’t tend to focus only on certain parts. Most ppl I know who go to seminary often have to learn Greek and/or Hebrew – that doesn’t sound too easy, either!!!

    • Wow! They mention learning Greek and/or Hebrew and I’m out of here. LOL.. Don’t think this ole brain could handle that. It’s great that you have established a method of reading and studying your Bible that works for you. Today I reminded myself that I am really not doing this so much to get a degree as I am to reading, learning, and understanding the Bible. That is the most important thing for me. A degree would be a bonus. Thanks for sharing!

I think its great that you haven chosen this course because you want to learn not necessarily for the degree. That was my motivation for schooling as well. I was I could make being a student into a career
