Event Hosted by Shy Babies & Little Inspiration
I am so excited! This is our first of many giveaways for Fun, Food, Hop. I have joined with some terrific bloggers to bring you Food Reviews and Giveaway Hops. Wholly Guacamole is our first sponsor, so be sure to let them know how much you appreciate them.
Here’s how this will work. Each of the participating bloggers receive products to review. We then use the products in a recipe, take a picture, and write down our recipe. This will be shared with our readers via a blog post. Most importantly we will write a review of the products so we can introduce you to some fantastic sponsors. The sponsors also provide a giveaway prize for each blogger for the winner of their giveaway. Did you catch that? EACH blogger will giveaway a prize!
Since this is a Giveaway Hop, once you have completed the Rafflecopter form on my page, be sure to hop on over to the Blog Sites listed below. You will want to check out their recipes and enter their giveaways, thereby increasing your chance of winning.
Wholly Guacamole sent each of us a cooler of products to try. HINT: Guess what the winner of our giveaways is going to win? We received numerous containers of Wholly Guacamole and Wholly Salsa. I chose to use the Pineapple Salsa in my recipe. I actually planned to make a crock pot recipe which is very easy to make. However, when my husband and I tasted the Pineapple Salsa I changed my mind. We don’t like “spicy” foods and to our taste buds this is spicy. There was no way I could drench our pork chops in it. I quickly went to my blogger friends to ask them if they knew how I could tame it down a bit. Several of them had ideas that sounded good but one of them sounded the best. Try adding honey to it. So here’s my quick and easy recipe
Pork Chops with Pineapple Salsa and Scalloped Corn
I used 2 Pork Chops (but you can adjust for your family size)
Flour and brown pork chops in 2 tbsp oil; 5 – 8 minutes per side
Place pork chops in scalloped corn and bake approx 1 hour at 425
Remove pork chops from scalloped corn and cover with warmed Pineapple Salsa. (I added approx 1 tbsp of honey for each 2 tbsp of the pineapple salsa.)
Scalloped Corn:
2 cans creamed corn
1 tbsp butter or margarine
10 – 12 crackers, crushed (I like to use Ritz crackers but you can use any kind you have on hand)
Mix all ingredients together. Place in 2 quart casserole dish sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
Wholly Guacamole and Salsa flavors come in such a wide variety that you’re sure to find a flavor you like. But, I bet you’ll find more than one. Wholly Guacamole products are all-natural and preservative free. All of their products are gluten-free and are certified kosher by the Orthodox Union. The salsa is nice and chunky and very flavorful. No pureed stuff here. As I said previously it is quite spicy for me. However, my neighbor would laugh at me and tell me it is not spicy. We all have our own taste preferences, so you will definitely want to check it out for yourself. You can usually find Wholly Guacamole in the refrigerated produce section at your local grocery store.
Follow Wholly Guacamole on their website, Facebook, and Twitter. Sign up for their newsletter here.
