Does the Bible really contain hidden beauty secrets that are useful to today’s women? Rachelle demonstrates in her new book, Biblical Beauty, that we can take “Ancient Secrets and Modern Solutions” from the Bible.

This is an interesting concept to me. My memories from the past are that wearing makeup was against the Bible. So i was definitely interested in seeing what Rachel had discovered. She uses women in the Bible for examples of “ancient secrets”. Then she uses her knowledge as a licensed cosmetologist, a makeup artist and skin care specialist to provide you with “modern solutions”.

Each chapter is organized using information about women from the Bible to explain ancient beauty secrets. We’ll use Esther as an example since her story is so well known. She was required to submit herself to a year of preparation before being allowed to present herself to the king. A year? Wow! That is amazing! She was anointed with oil of myrrh for six months and other perfumes for the remainder of the year. Thus, she is used as a model for “fragrance”.

Then the next chapter is presented as “modern solutions” for “fragrance”. Men and women wear their own special fragrance that they feel enhances who they are. Rachelle explains how aromatic scents are derived from both natural and chemical sources. She then goes on to give information on how to test a fragrance, tells you that opened fragrance bottles spoil or evaporates over a period of time and talks about aromatherapy.

There is a wealth of information in Biblical Beauty. You will need to use your own judgement to determine if the Bible really contains hidden beauty secrets. I have to say I really haven’t decided if I agree or not. But I can tell you that you will find a lot of good information in this book.
